STUDY BENEFIT PLAN (Bonded Staff only)
Eligibility:
Only persons who have signed the firm’s bonded agreement will be eligible for benefits under this training and development plan.
Examinations:
This plan covers all subjects under the ACCA Examinations and the following subjects under the CAT examinations:
T6 Drafting Financial Statements
T2 Information for Management
T5 Managing People
Please note that before the benefits accrue to the CAT persons, they must have successfully completed T8 Auditing Practice and Procedures, T9 Preparing Taxation Computations and Returns and T10 Managing Finances of the final CAT level.
Classes:
The firm will pay for classes for all qualifying subjects on first attempts only for classes held at the Student Training Consortium of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica or any other training institution as approved by the Partners from time to time.
Persons for whom classes are paid and do not attend 90% of them will be required to reimburse the firm 100% for the cost of these classes. In addition, the person will not be entitled to any future benefit for the subject for which the class was missed.
*** First attempt is defined as the first time the employee sits the examination whilst in the employment of Chambers Henry.
*** The only exception to persons attending less than 90% of classes is if they are working on assignments for CHP.
Revision courses are to the sole expense of the employee, but the firm will advance the cost of the classes and study text and deduct the full amount from their salary over a three-month period.
Study texts:
The firm will provide study texts for the current syllabus of those examinations as stated above. Persons need to return the texts after the examination for which they were provided.
All study texts are the property of the firm and therefore need to be maintained with due care and returned in good condition. If any study text gets damaged or stolen during the course of the study, it should be replaced by the user.
Exam fees:
The firm will advance the cost of examination fees and this will be recovered from your monthly salary over a three-month period, starting from the month following the month in which the examination fee is paid.
In the event that you have successfully passed the exam on your first attempt, the cost of the examination will be reimbursed in full. This does not apply to exemptions.
Study leave:
The firm will grant five (5) days paid study leave per subject for first attempts. This includes the examination day with regard to those examinations, as stated above.
Study leave must be applied for three (3) months prior to the exam date.
The firm has all rights to re-call any person during the study leave period in respect of urgent matters pertaining to the assignments which were in progress immediately preceding the commencement of the study leave.
